Knife and gun crime

Recommended Posts

New laws look like the will be proposed to 'fight knife crime'. Expect to see more firearm and knife restrictions, probably banning single handed opening folding knives. The knees are jerking hard. Here's the Home Office press release:

Fact is that there are so many knives readily available already.

They know exactly what should be done and that is more coppers on the beat (but that costs money) with more powers to stop and search. It would give them ideal opportunity to riot and play the race card. Stronger sentences for knife crime would help as a deterrent I feel, but again, that would cost money.

Good post, MG and I concur.

Let's just say they banned all knives. Every single one. What do you do with all the knives in circulation? Even if the law-abiding majority complied with that law the criminal won't.

31 states over here have the death penalty for aggravated circumstances around murder, including some of the most violent places in the country. Capital punishment is no deterrent so I don't see stronger sentences would work other than to keep them off the streets for longer.

Alright, alright. We're only teasing you Kev. You do live sort of, near-ish to the next county along from Greater London. You don't have to explain.

P.S. Can I still have my doughnut now i've admitted that?
