House deeds n pigeons

We live on a small new ish housing estate ( 30 houses ) on our deeds it says no livestock pigeons or poultry  etc 

i live at the top of the street and have a large corner plot, and would like to keep 3 pair of racing pigeons  can I get the deed changed or shall I just keep the birds and hope know one complains ?

That’s what I was thinking and if they do complain take them back to the Alotments, as long as I can’t get fined or out ?

You can get fined for breaking the rules on deeds

The covenant on the deeds will only run for x amount of years mate.Look into it more deeply .Its all about standards the original builder ,company wish to maintain and be seen to promote but its' never indefinite. Same with sheds on some new builds but no one takes any notice .

I wouldn’t take a blind bit of notice, if you look on almost all ex council house deeds it’s says you are not allowed to run a business from the property but it don’t stop hundreds of thousands being self employed.

I've never heard of deeds saying what you can and can't do with your own property. Is that a new thing?

Not really. A house I had in Manchester had a no washing lines no vehicles with company logos clause. It expired when the property was 10 years old. Not that anyone paid any attention to it.

Repercussions will depend on how well you get on with your neighbours.

No been cases of covenants being from the 1900s and people still trying to enforce them

At one time you could try and overturn the no livestock one as they used to say you could keep couple hens for eggs an rabbits for meat to do with ww2 and postwar rationing ? but sure I read somewhere they done away with it now.?
