Saw one for a quick couple mins yestwrday here, not very often i do see em local, hopefully the new a1 an verges brings em in tho, always love watching them hunt. As a kid in glasgow kestrels an sparrowhawks were all over

I'm lucky to have them on my door step here, watch them most days around my garden. I might even knock up a box! ;-)

The best i get in my garden are goldies, and a yellow bird about the size of a sparrow. No idea what it is. See a golden eagle often when out with the dog.

What a cracking idea i wonder if you,d get away with sticking a trail cam or something up close by.....i put a box up for Barn Owls a few years ago but nothing,how do you know the right areas just hit and miss i suppose.

If more of those boxes were put up it could potentially be huge for kestrel conservation.

Great video that, and great to see something being done to help the kestrel out.

Still seems to be a bit of a mystery where they've gone.., I definitely believe it's linked to the huge increase in the numbers of buzzards, sparrowhawks & peregrines.

Once saw a female sparrowhawk take a kestrel with ease in flight ,they aren't much of a fight back bird although I did see vid of one defending best from a jackdaw half heartedly.

Watched it this morning & just thought it had to be shared. The mans a falconer & not only is he putting something great back, he can also make a cracking bit of film....;-) My lad made me play it back about 20 times!

Just had the young barn owls/kestrels rung on my local perm,the owls were no bother to handle,the young Kestrel bit fook out of the fella who does the ringing lol.Its great watching the young owls stretching their wings and finding their way around the farm at dusk...Last year they reared six young ,this year theres just the two,but theres a chance of another clutch yet as these are ready to go,they bred a lot earlier this year than last....
