In The Orchard

Recommended Posts

After work this afternoon I had a drive to a perm about 15 mins away where I thought the coneys would be relishing todays sunshine and I wasn't wrong!!!

There were quite a few out but most of them were in an old orchard at the bottom of one of the fields.

It's a cracking spot but very rough dead grass all over so it makes for quite an interesting bit of sport.

These bunnies were all taken from an ambush position 34 yards away with a nice mixture of head and boiler room shots when the head was obscured by the grass. Even with the heart and lung shots they were dropping like stones.

And for once I was overdressed....in fact I was bloody boiling, not complaining though as it's long overdue.

Thanks for reading lads.

Yes I had a couple perms that suffered fom it a couple of years ago and the farm nearest to me, I haven't seen a rabit on to this day and neither has the farmer!

A bit gutted really as it's a nice handy perm but they will come back eventually.

They are in full swing here pal.

I could have shot 3 kits if I wasn't such a soft sod and 3 of the does I did shoot had 4, 3 and 5 in the oven.

Making a name for itself that little pocket rocket.

Cheers Rez.

With it being fairly light it certainly makes you concentrate for every shot.

If you hold it even slightly too firm your shot is off. She's quite unforgiving but once your used to it, it's point, aim, whollop!!??
