Priority Of The News

Recommended Posts

 OSCARS first THEN child abuse second on news schedule .the awards should be a foot note after the main news story or is it just me who thinks that these actors aren't as important as the media would like joe public to believe.

The media's priorities aren't based on importance, it's based on popularity. If something is more popular with their chosen demographic then that's going to get more coverage.

Not true imo, the media set the importance if they were all over the paedophile ring and demanding answers then people would take note but they don't they play it down and act as if all is well now the nasty men have been caught and there is no story, on the other hand they play up the Oscars or whatever bollocks it is and it just so happens the people they're trying to thrust down our necks are singing the same tune they are.

Its not 'the news' its what you are being told is important, your going to have to look a bit harder for what is going on in this 'real' world, & then reading between the lines with filter on max needs to be applied.

The thing with all media of any kind. Be it internet/TV or paper is whoever runs it has their set way of thinking and that is the way the news is told in those outlets . Every single one of these will have the people at the top being in the higher echelons of society. Me myself I don't trust the big business types as they are always swayed by their own business and friendships . Brexit happened but during the campaign they made promises and put figures out there that were immediately proved false. In my opinion their is no real news outlet that doesn't have its own way of telling news and all of them will embellish or add facts to suit their own point . I may be way off the mark here but that's my way of thinking . I listen to local news but don't read or get to into anything else much . Muddy water everywhere

it's about money. They have to sell things because advertisers pay their bills. They have to show things that get people to sit and watch. If you want a light evening you're not going to sit and watch a documentary on child abuse, you're going watch celebrities congratulate each other with gold statues.

Bottom line is this. If you don't like what you see in the media stop subsidising it with your money. Cancel your satellite. Unplug the box and read something that might actually contain real information.

The average Brit spends 8 hours 41 minutes, a day on the media. Roughly split 50/50 between telly and devices. More time than actually sleeping, and yet we never have time for anything

The Gladwell Effect says it takes 10,000 hours of learning to master a craft. So while we're all media experts if you started now, and spent the time on something useful, you could be a master of a craft in under 3½ years.

f**k that, though, right? Lets watch I'm A Celebrity, What Is This Shit...

Probably a lot of it is while they're at work. It's an average, and doesn't reflect everybody, but you have to admit that a third of their lives is being hooked to a screen and it's pretty damning.

A third...

33%
