Wise words from wise members. I second the second hand route which will give you the chance of buying a better quality gun than your budget may extend to if buying new.   Phil

That has defiantly given me some more routes to look down thanks lads.

Now imagine that, 300 beans for your first air rifle   30 quid Chinky B2 for me. Glad I didn't get anything else really. Would of spoilt the experiences that's followed.

My gun shop owning mate says that the HW 95 is the best selling springer under £300 new.

Just took a nosey at your profile Ash and see that your a 31 yr old bloke, so I`ll say to you take a very serious look at Air Arms TX 200 HC or Pro Sport as quality second hand - outstanding rifles Ash. Especially in .177 :whistling::angel:

Both out standing rifles

and will still be here when your not ASH

and in what ever cal you pick

For what he's looking for, I can't put it any better than these comments

The money will go further on a used item and, a quality springer will be serviceable for ever

Lets just say im starting to warm to this little rifle

in fact im starting to warm to it a lot

but still dont like the bear trap

but i suppose i could live with it

and all this rifle has had is a small tune and de grease when Si had it

By the way Mark I do not own a 22 rifle now all 177 even little hunters rifles but one his ultra are all 177 now

his ultra is the only 22 in the house (his first pcp ultra 22 single shot and as accurate as any 177)

In his hands any way lol

I was on the airgunforum the other day and the plusses and minuses of the Hw90 were discussed.

The good bit is they are a really well made gas ram, good trigger, you can sit in a hide and wait with a cocked and loaded gun without worrying about damaging a tensioned spring. And are reasonably easy to DIY. I have considered getting one myself.

The bad is that they are really heavy, like heavier than an Hw80, or TX200 or...

And they can leak.
