Best Beginners Air Rifle For Around £300?

Recommended Posts

How about a PCP, made in Britain, mounts, scope, silencer, bag, pellets and targets as well as a high pressure pump to fill it with? All that lot, under £500, but delivered, not collect only, delivered? Have yourself a BSA Ultra with a Spanish name!

Ambidextrous thumbhole stock, 10 shot magazine, great gun for little cash! A bit more than you wanted, but a gun that should last you a few years!

Wise words from wise members. I second the second hand route which will give you the chance of buying a better quality gun than your budget may extend to if buying new.   Phil

That has defiantly given me some more routes to look down thanks lads.

Now imagine that, 300 beans for your first air rifle   30 quid Chinky B2 for me. Glad I didn't get anything else really. Would of spoilt the experiences that's followed.

I'd reccomend after all the guns iv owned - a new HW99 and give the piston a good polish and fit TBT spring guide kit and still have change for a nice mil dot scope and pellets. Learning to shoot a springer well is good for learning marksmanship skills too.

For the scope is the hawke eclipse 3-12x50 ir mil dot or hawke eclipse 4-16x50 mil dot the better for small game as I have no idea about the ranges etc for hunting small game and am a complete a mature at using a rifle these most likely seem bone questions but like I say I have no clue. More used to using a ferret and net lol.
Hi ashdove.

Iv not used either of them scopes on my 99 I like a nice compact scope in keeping with its light weight. Hawke scopes are decent just make sure it's mil dot and your away. They are nice guns and no charging gear needed. A DIY fettle to them also makes a fun rewarding project too as they are very simple to strip.

My gun shop owning mate says that the HW 95 is the best selling springer under £300 new.

Just took a nosey at your profile Ash and see that your a 31 yr old bloke, so I`ll say to you take a very serious look at Air Arms TX 200 HC or Pro Sport as quality second hand - outstanding rifles Ash. Especially in .177 :whistling::angel:

Get what ever rifle suits you

BUT THE MOST IMPORTANT THING HERE IS

learn to shoot it BEFORE you go hunting live pray

the last thing you want is to wound the pray so it runs away and die,s in pain

get your self to a shooting range and practice you will need to put lead in a 5p size target time and time again with out thinking ,

It may sound easy but its not and a lot of lads will say its not ether and will take some time to achieve this

PRACTICE THEN PRACTICE SOME MORE

And read up on the general license what you can and can not shoot

or you could land your self in some deep sh*t

what ever you end up with enjoy it and all ways be safe
