I know us lot on here that keep working type bred dogs , that are a working animals that do a job, that both man and dog love, and you miss them that bit more when there good at it . But dog bring pleasure to people in all walks of life , pet or lap dog, worker, they all leave big space when there gone, hope the bloke gets another dog, a nice terrier pup , would be just right and help his mrs get over the old dog .

Jok. no mate, it don't matter where you from . I met the bloke yesterday , on my dog walk , he just got his pat x border terrier with him, he was running around with Buck playing . I asked him out it went, he said they put the needle in her, she looked at him then moved her tail bit then, then she was gone .His mrs had to go outside she couldn't handle it. he strong fit lad , does a lot of landscape gardening work. he left the old dog there , went out side to his mrs and then drove the motor , he said to me he had tears in eyes all the way home . he hoping to get another bitch terrier pup soon, so it not just jocks who shed a tear when a dog put down . Kay 3,709
Its a decision I had to make on 21st Dec,my old greyhound bitch had gone off her back legs , I couldnt see her struggle any longer , the hardest part was the fact she was basically ok other than her legs, eat & drank right up to the end. She came to me via a lad on here, & was a great source of comfort to me when I first separated from my husband, we spent that first Christmas day out playing in the snow . She was like shit of a shovel & the first time I saw her in full flight was the most amazing thing I had ever seen , she was that '' special dog'' we have all owned RIP Madge gone but not forgotten
Guest Ronny
Very hard to replace a dog that you have a special bond with .one of mine was 15 .couldn't look him in the eye at the vets.
Paulnix 426
Had to put my fathers 12 yr old Springer down on Christmas day, very hard on the old man because the dog was born on same day we buried my mother, truthfully he kept him two days longer than he should of but he couldn't bare to have him put down, cracking dog though and sired a fair amount of pups in his time. First time I've put one down myself and was a lonely walk back, the wife knew to keep the kids away from me for a while after and while she couldn't really understand how I could until I told her in my opinion its the last best thing you can do for a dog, still it's hardest thing I've done in a long while but sort of glad it was me and not a stranger in the vets. ETA, Kay those are some really cracking photo's, I may steal one for my screensaver Edited January 6, 2017 by Paulnix
