The problem with most the input on these saluki threads is that most who comment have not even owned one, and if they have it usually stayed around year then bred from or sold on,   Cant run in smal

Ghostly Ease?, yea I see where you coming from with that phrase mate, when they flat out in pursuit they make it look so effortless, really graceful, a real pleasure to watch, kill or no kill, its the

listen it's simple , The Fact you only said you had not got a running dog after I put the offer out there shows your a talker like I already stated. I'm still willing to run your dogs with my dogs. On

There is no answer too that question, every hare is an individual and every dog is an individual, every run is different, be it ground conditions weather, whatever, when the hare gets up you know nothing about it until its dead , could be green as grass, could be a highly skilled veteran, dog could be feeling off color or suffering a strain that worsens over the day, its simply about testing the dogs ability too course and catch the hare, good hare? good dog? shit hare? shit dog?, everyone sees the course differently as well, some see it one way some another,,

one thing I do know is that if all hares where given proper fair law , then more than likely, a lot less would die, regardless wether it was a pure saluki, beddy whippet, or a saluki lurcher doing the chasing,

the bests the best be it lurcher saluki whippet or hare simple as that

all hares should be given fair law if not whats the point in it

goes full circle to are we coursing the hare or setting out too kill him, its blurred more cause of the law changes, but the old coursing clubs weren't as kill driven as the modern couser, but there was rules so each dog was tested properly and fairly, not just chucked on whatever gets up, likesay a real good hare will evade all but the very best dogs even when he kicked up, lesser dogs he will simply leave for dead, off a massive slip even the best dogs will have to be on his game to catch the best hares, if they where that easy too catch it would not be worth doing, but plenty spend enough time money effort risk in trying too

I've seen and caught plenty of Hares but I've never had a Saluki or Saluki cross to see what they are like.

I was talking about in flesh. I've seen plenty of Saluki type dogs on YouTube, some dogs do seem to run the Hare to a standstill whereas some Hares end up leaving the dog. It's a difficult one to answer I know.... Edited by DogFox123
