Deker 3,491
The people have spoken, like it or not the democratic process has voted out. It's time for the wingeing, back stabbing, sniping and threats to stop. This county is Great, it isn't the first time we have stood alone and I suspect it won't be the last, we all need to set our differences aside and make this work! ATB! Nicepix 5,650
I agree and predict that over the next few days the venom that had been directed at the UK will subside. Most of this vitriol has come from within the EU hierarchy as they are desperate to avoid any blame for the Brexit and to try and stop other countries from also asking for a referendum. However, inside the governments of member countries they will also be aware that they will come under pressure if trade with the UK is not maintained. There are elections in France & Germany next year and both those countries export massive amounts to the UK. Their industries will be feeling vulnerable and will pressurise their governments to preserve the UK trade. As a result I predict that there will be a shift towards governments blaming the EU policies for the Brexit, and the French, German and Italian governments will become more supportive to the UK. I wouldn't be surprised if there wasn't increased pressure for the EU to curb its intrusive social policies.

Nicepix 5,650
A view from the French Prime Minister: British referendum on the Brexit demonstrates that "we must lance the boil" of a Europe seen as "punitive" by its citizens, said Prime Minister Manuel Valls Tuesday detailing how to "move to a new big step."In a speech of nearly a half-hour before the National Assembly, the head of government said that the choice of the British out of Thursday's EU showed "the malaise of the people" who, he said, "doubt from Europe". "They feel it imposes its choices and systematically works against their interests," he said."Europe will be with the people. Otherwise it will disintegrate," said Mr. Valls refusing yet analyzed the European project "capsized and sank, driven by the growing weight of populism". "We thought we could enlarge, expand, forced march, that + not + be forgotten thanks to more Europe, that referendums could be circumvented, the growing rejection of Europe is looked after by pedagogy" has detailed one who had initially asked to vote + not + to the European Constitution in 2005."We avoided the real debates and we left a boulevard to populism, And he's not the only one doubting the EU's popularity amongst the public.
