jukel123 9,416
Slightly off topic, but I've always thought Lennox Lewis would be right up there in any era of boxing. He could bang, good chin, terrific physique and movement plus a real student of the sport. I think he was one of the first giants, but I reckon he would have outclassed Fury no problem. Granted Klitchko gave him a fright, but definitely in the top 3 of all time for me. Edited January 9 by jukel123

Do you remember the epic between Hagler and Leonard ? That fight really divided opinion big time. Leonard dodged Hagler and scored with punches that barely grazed Hagler I'm still not sure. At the time I was on my feet roaring that Hagler had been robbed. But now I'm not so sure.

Goly 1,823
Leonard picked the perfect time to face Hagler after ducking him for years, he saw on the night that Marvin faced Mugabi that he'd faded a little, that war took even more out of him.

Not taking anything away from him, he put in a great performance, it's a fight where I change my mind every time I watch it. Both very special fighters.

Goly 1,823
Just now, gnasher16 said: I always felt that Leonard had a nasty streak to him,a pompous belittling kind of thing where he knew he could beat Hagler but waited until people felt it was impossible for him to do so....similar to when he went up to " light heavy " but set the weight at 168 to beat the Canadian and nearly came unstuck he just had an air of superior " im Ray Leonard i can do what i like " about him. I'm not sure I agree, Hagler a few years earlier was faster, he'd definitely slowed considerably by the time they met. He left something in the ring with Mugabi, took a lot of shots in that bout. But, he fought the wrong fight in the early rounds, he gave away those first few rounds and then had to chase it. Leonard was a special fighter though, no doubt about that.
