Phil Lloyd 10,739
Bit late for me to start again ... But,...as I only hunt,..the Two R's.....my ideal hybrid would be a Three Quarter Greyhound/ Quarter Border Collie..no need for anything else ,...a nice strong'un would do me nicely... jake824 517
3/4 Grey 1/4 collie wither it be border or beardie, my personal preference would be beardie, they great allrounders will turn their hand to most things from ferreting/lamping, taking odd daytime hare and will take foxes regular preban if entered correctlyi tried 2. First was from Hancock years ago from a half cross called stormin Norman to a greyhound called jet. He finished at 28 inches and would do rabbit and hare but was a coward on fox. I gave him till over 2 year old as I really liked him but he did nt want it. Second was from Swansea area and much like the first. Gutless . Never again Quote Link to post
roybo 2,873
Wouldn't mind ,having a well bred strong coursing bitch lined to a real well bred tested bull, preferably that has thrown the same as his self and I'd pay well for the pleasure . But I doubt I could do it justice . But we can all dream. Quote Link to post
Neal 1,930
I'm not sure what I'd choose if I had to start all over again...it took me about ten years and four collie crosses to realise that I wanted a pure kelpie! However, without that knowledge, if I had to start again with a lurcher I'd either have a whippet x kelpie or collie or a 3/4 kelpie or collie 1/4 greyhound...and in a few years time I'd get a pure kelpie and be back where I am now. I'm confused! Quote Link to post
gamerooster 1,179
Been looking for a kelpie X for a while now, they're taking some finding! Even considered breeding my own litter that's how much I'm struggling to find a pup Quote Link to post
Neal 1,930
Gamerooster: I would offer you Noggin as a stud but as he's only caught one squirrel so far and is currently undergoing a gradual increase in workload after an r.t.a. so he's not exactly what you'd call a proven worker. Apologies for going off topic. Quote Link to post
Silversnake 1,099
If i could think of a perfect mix of breeds i would like it would be a whippet kelpie x bull grey saluki. Unfortunately breeds do not necessarily make a good working dog and finding your perfect mix of breeds is very rare but i love to dream and I will not criticize anyone else's dreams.
