Lads this one needed a thread of its own so how do you think this travelling mans lurcher is bred ? Not sure how old this photograph is but I'll try to find out pretty sure it's very old though !

One thing that strikes me about that photo is, it's only one rabbit, but means the world. No ego's just good honest pot hunting, take what you need and leave the rest for when you need them again.

Them old Blue Shaggs and Southern Downland types,.still exist...even today. :thumbs:

Do you keep beasts like these? Or know the folks that have them?

I know a shepherdess who has one and its her main dog. It's thoroughly devoted to her and a decent worker.

Darbo I think you had a x of this type?

Hi Chicken Man,..I grew up around these types of herding dogs, plus a whole lot of other,.. miscellaneous curs,... :laugh:

Nowadays, I only do a bit of rabbit catching and mole trapping,..so would have no need of such animals...

But,..I cannot forget them...or my early life with them.... ;)
