Fair Play To Eddie

Recommended Posts

Just seen it on the news, Eddie Izzard ran 27 marathons in 27 days in Africa. To cap off the feat, he ran two marathons on the last day due to an unscheduled rest day on day Five.

Fair play to him, I doubt I could have that on me bike never mind running it

I gotta take my hat off to him. Thats twice he's done such a feat. Dont mind the bloke tbh, i can see past all the makeup etc. He's a smart bloke with an iron will.

That closet homo Walliums did the Channel swim and was highly praised for it. Izzard's efforts are far greater imo.

He didn't run them he ran some of the way, walked or crawled most and probably jumped in the van when the cameras were off. I'd say it was impossible

He raised over a million pound for charity so I doubt that he bluffed it ... Hats off to the man that takes some physical and mental toughness ......

That's easy when your a face on telly and have a team running round doing all the chasing up for you. Corporate companies are falling over themselves to be seen to be doing the right thing. Same with all those famous people "climbing" Kilimanjaro. If it was me or you, we'd be happy to raise a couple of hundred quid. If half of these so called celebrities dipped into their own pockets they wouldn't need to do it. I'll bet a gong is in the post now for our Eddie. It's impossible to do

Why is it impossible?

Like AT says above, that bloke from Liverpool did 40 in 40 days. Granted not in Africa heat but even so a massive feat.

What's your experience with marathons to doubt the man?

Physically and mentally unless you're a finally honed athlete with lots of experience, then I say the human body isn't capable. Look at he finishers in a marathon., they're fecked, even the decent club runners. I do long distance walking, sometimes covering a marathon distance and it takes some getting over, but to do it 27 times! Like I said, run, walk, get a lift etc etc?
