Remove Pebble Dashing And Rerender

Recommended Posts

Having some issues with penetrating damp and the dashing has cracks all over. Knew it was a problem when we bought the house but all this wet weather has brought it to the fore so looking to have it sorted this year. Double brick no cavity so normal sand and cement render Im told is a no-no. the newer waterproof and breathable types K.rend or similar are meant to be the ones to go for.

Anyone do this type of work, or have a recommendation around doncaster?

cheers

I did rendering jobs with my Dad that are still sound after 35 years or so, proper scratch coat, well finished top coat, water proofer in both, no worries.

It's an expensive way to repair the gable but with the family expanding the way it has it needed doing. I'm tempted to keep the big living room for myself though with a fish tank and a no girls allowe

Where's the damp getting in high up or low down? Do you have any pictures of exterior house and damp.

Paint won't keep the water out. Sand/cement render is fine when adding a waterproof agent in the mix. If that water doesn't find a way out it'll just get worse whenever it freezes as it expends and pushing it away from wall
