What is peoples opinion on the old series? I thought it was class my fav 2 were mid winter madness and the salmon one, I read that the redmire carp were all killed by otters, what a waste, anybody know what the anglers are up to these days?

Agree with you all . John Wilson was good so was Paul until they started going abroad and spoiled it . As for the other two dident they go separate ways after one was caught shagging the others wife

It was a great series. Reminds of fishing with my dad.

 

Bernard cribbins was possibly the best narrator for it.

I hadn't a clue lolol, one was fishing for a woman and she was taking a rod but the wrong one haha, It reminds me of fishing when I was young,

did any of the huge carp survive the predation? They were belters, they could restock it with fish from Alton towers

I hadn't a clue lolol, one was fishing for a woman and she was taking a rod but the wrong one haha, It reminds me of fishing when I was young,

 

I met Bob on numerous occasions during the mid 80's when we were fishing Somerley in Ringwood

You can still fish Redmire their taking bookings now, not sure of stock levels these days, more about the history though

"Had a week at Redmire last week, our usual yearly trip, well this yeat it went brilliant, landed 6 and lost 2, fish were 15lb mirror, 16.4 common, 17lb linear, 19.2 common, 23.4 common and a 26.4 common. Was a trip i wont ever forget, no it's not what it once was but i still get that magical buzz when walking down the track and playing a carp in there certinaly gets the heart beating."

i can just imagine going to that place, you'd hear the narrators voice in your head as your playing the fish haha, Where did they fish fir the salmon?

cracking spot below the falls, There's a river over here like that called the Finn with a good pool below the falls, caught quite a few from it
