marshman 7,758
The country is well rid of him...... Warren Mitchell was in life a socialist, a Labour Party supporter and a Tottenham Yid. The character of Alf was meant to take the piss out of the many old boys we know who are just like Alf. mate the mans dead and he played one of the finest comedy characters that hit the nail on the head for men of a generation from our capital ,and for that I respect him !! Regardless of him being Jewish he's own politics and what football team he supported 'lol
marshman 7,758
we laughed at him not because it was a witty swipe at a right wing white working class man, but because we knew him heard him in our pubs where related to him and knew he's like that's why we laughed !!

Oh for f**k sake Wilf are you sure ! Hugh Grant copped a nosh of some brass that dont mean he,s not a fantastic actor ....Mark Wahlberg,Sean Penn etc etc not exactly squeaky clean characters but brilliant actors in great films.....normally you talk a lot of sense so i imagine saying the countries well rid of a man just because he was a Spurs fan was some sort of joke but not in the best taste if you ask me

walshie 2,804
Why wasn't Alf Garnett considered racist in the 1970s? Why were we allowed to laugh at him back then? It's either because it's what a large proportion of us really do think but are stifled by this artificial term "racist" and fear of being called one....OR We really have turned into a bunch of namby-pamby do-gooding lefties. WILF 49,236
I will be f***ing overjoyed when Blair bites the dust too and I don't have a clue who he supports. He is the most talented politician we have ever seen, so what, still aided and abetted screwing England into the f***ing ground. I hate Tony Robinson as well. I don't think that makes me a bad person ! Lol lol

Personally i think we,ve had this silly " racism " word pummelled into us for so long now we,re all scared shitless of it......back then blacks called us names and we called them names......theres more problems now we,ve all been gagged than there was when we could openly take the piss out of each other.......down to your namby pamby do gooders who think we,re all too fragile to take being called whitey or blacky !
