Has anyone ever opened up a deben battery?

I had one break once so I cracked it open to find inside the case about 20 little battery's the size of AA's all wired together.

Would be easy to make aa deben lithium battery.

apparently they are the same as the ones that come out of laptop batteries and you can join them together but you need to know what your doing. In work my mate has been dismantling the laptop batteries and I have a torch here that uses them they are not aa batteries though

this lithium battery i have here the one i posted on the 1st page has around 10 small batteries under the blue plastic they feel like aa batteries

They are round rechargeable lithium battery's that are sized in between AA and c, I noticed the same type can be bought of eBay.. I was very surprised when I opened casing.

It did not look very complicated . . from what I could see all the positives where wired together and all the negatives where wired together.

The battery is an 18650 cell, same as in laptops and one used in e cigs

they are 18650 batteries linked together. the deben ones have the same batteries. just be careful with the chargers as thats usually were problems occur

Be very careful mucking around with lithium It can go very wrong very quickly!

 

Do a lot of research and remember it's not as simple as setting them up in series or parallel.

Remember what happened to ideations lithium,,,,, he had a house fire because of it blowing up,,, and that was Deben ,,,be careful lads

Iv used the blue Chinese batteries before, the 6 amp ones for night vision, they are alright although they don't fill you with confidence in handling them.i don't think they are actually the amp they say though, just my opinion.
