I deal with global C-level people all the time. Not the media granted but still have to project a squeaky clean image of complete professionalism and be able to communicate effectively with very senior people

 

As I said before I would be happy to get on-board, just feel people may take umbridge with me living in Spain.

Knowing how to communicate and having the right language that puts us out there is just what is needed,and you sound like you have those skills. Why would living in Spain make any difference ? I dont think it should.

The association of Lurcher Clubs has all the connections and the Countryside Alliance has not, repeat has not discarded the ALC, also the ALC is a long time member of the Council of Hunting Associations. The Council of Hunting Associations is the main body Supporting and promoting all forms of hunting. The voice of the Association of Lurcher clubs is as loud as any other form of hunting.

There are some that seem more interested in a name change, but the ALC is known and respected to all hunting associations. Change the format, the club rules, the code of conduct if you must, but while you are doing this we are falling behind. What is important is the future of lurcher work, not personnal differances.

Imo lurcher work will go back to its original form more and more as time goes on. By original form I mean, poaching.

Lurchers came about as a means to feed a mans family, and as times become harder for working people around the country I can see things going almost full circle.

People who work dogs for a hobby will become less and less as and the people for who lurchers and working dogs are a way of life will carry on, passing down their knowledge and skills to those they trust.

for some their dogs are literally their life and nothing will ever change that. There will always be these people and they will carry on no matter what. But imo there are tough times ahead.

That's just my opinion and wether or not that's a good or bad thing, only time will tell.

I can't be bothered wasting my battery life reading,18 pages this post sums it up for me,also I feel lurcher men are the new badger diggers of old,where people look at them as cruel and distasteful.

I've not had a proper running dog for a bit but if/when I do it will be either a whippet ,or a lab type ,and it will be kept out of sight and kept quiet!

Its not about name change its about projecting a completely fresh image to get away from the images projected by LACS in previous onslaughts the ones that stick in the public mind its them we have to convince that we are the way forward and that Hunting preservation is about preservation of life. The term fit for purpose keeps coming in my mind the term has been used for organisations like the UN , the UK border agencies etc longevity does not always suit the time does it just a thought.
