Cold cast bronze trophies ( see photo) for Ch Whippet; Ch Terrier and Ch Lurcher plus for the Five Nations Champion Lurcher and the Five Nations Champion Terrier.

The Directors Challenge

This is restricted to dogs that have not won a race at any event in the UK or Ireland

There will be three sets of heats for dogs classified as follows:

1. Rough Coated Lurcher Any size Winner Trophy
2. Bull or Terrier /cross Lurcher Any size Winner Trophy
3. Smooth Coated Lurcher/Long dog any breeding other than (2) Any size. Winner Trophy

The top two dogs from each classification will run in a six dog final

BY REQUEST SPECIAL LURCHER RACES : Over and under 23” races for dogs that have NOT run as ‘Elite’ dogs. Winners €30 and a bag of dog food.

Family Dog Show:
Any Variety shown by a child under 12 years of age

Champion Handling Class from the above classes Receives Trophy & Rosette.

The RED MILLS FIVE Nations Championships will be judged at 5.30 in the main arena. Judges : Lurchers: Rose McCoy; Graham Brennan and Pat McGrath: Terriers: Janet Duke, Owen Mulcahy and Keith Breen

ALL QUALIFIED HANDLERS for the FIVE NATIONS must register their dogs at the Fair HQ before 12.00 noon.

Unfortunately due to some very silly people making spurious allegations of judging being 'fixed' and to to save our judges getting unnecessary hassle on social media we decided not to publish the judges names in advance.

 

On behalf of the Game Fair team I can categorically assure people entering our events that NO EVENT IS FIXED or PREJUDGED and we have absolutely no vested interest in having anything other than fair and impartial judging. I judge at KC shows myself and I can assure you I judge the dogs and not the other end the lead. I expect any judges at our events to do the same.

 

The terrier, lurcher and whippet judges have our total confidence as to their knowledge, judging ability & experience and above all impartiality to give their fair opinion of you dogs. It may differ from your own but it will be given fairly.

Any show I've been at this year the border and Lakeland classes had only a couple of dogs and bitches in them,the pattetdale class is always much bigger

have to say its my 1st time in a few years ive been to Birr and I thoroughly enjoyed the day,so much so I didnt leave till after 6 p.m.My son and I had a good ole snoop around the stalls and we met some old friends and made one or 2 new friends,Very enjoyable day,

A red dog won the overall nice strong sort of terrier

The runner up was a Russell but by fook how it was placed is beyond me it's tail was up it's ass and a very nervous dog
