Done a couple with the Mrs but not allowed to anymore, had vhs tapes for 10p each and this guy came up and said "5p?" I replied "you can have it for 5p if I can bounce it of your skull?" Missus wasn't amused... " you cannae say that!!" She said "well I did" was my reply

Usually make enough to cover cost of pitch, fuel to get there, bit of spending money to buy more crap Iddon't need and if I'm very lucky enough to pay for a carvery dinner afterwards.. Prices are much higher in Ireland at boot sales than UK.. I really need to drive over in van to a big boot sale in England

Did one a few weeks ago with the wife and made £150. Sold some of the kids old gear and household items. Doing another next week so hopefully more of the same. The people were actually helping us to get the gear out of the van when we arrived.

I done them for years, it's great when your getting rid of stuff then everything you take is profit. But once you start down the road of buying stuff to sell, what you make on what you take drops dramatically. I tried to work on 100% mark up so 50% of what I took was profit. Before the recession hit it was great as people were moving houses and just wanted to get rid and not too fussy what they got for the stuff just so long as they did not have to carry it home.

I would go to one boot sale on a Saturday in Swansea just to buy. I would buy the stuff that would sell in a country boot sale in Carmarthen on the Sunday and would get the stuff cheaper because it does not sell in the city.

Once the recession hit though it all changed people wanted money for their stuff, houses were not selling so you did not have the clearances coming in. Our town used to have some good boot sales, only one left now and the Mrs went there this morning and only a dozen or so cars there.

My best boot sale buy has to be this one. http://www.thehuntinglife.com/forums/topic/341966-boot-sale-find/

Get some right bargains at the car boots I used to buy chainsaws, strimmers, stilh saws and fix them for a profit.I done a car boot the other month, I pulled up as soon as my boot was open the fookers were pulling the boxes out and rummaging that was at 6 am,I'd sold out by 9.30 with a tidy profit.it was all shite that would of got skipped otherwise.

Car boots used to be the place to pick up cheap bits and bobs ones mans rubbish and all that. But now people want 10 20 quid for stuff. Luckily some people still just want to get rid of the clutter for a couple of quid. I get my gardens forks there can pick up one for 2 quid yet the chap a few yards down wants a tenner because he has polished it
