Recommended Posts

I live some where there are no badgers at all eradicated years ago no chance of repopulation either when a earth just appears you know it's fox in fact on my dog (walk) today on a nice piece of grass bank is the start of a new one I'll keep my eye on it fingers crossed

that statement is a lot of shit
no mate it ain't I live on a relatively small island one bridge on same bridge off lol you know shit all fecking idiot and I'd say a dig of around 4 foot deep with typical fox marks and is taller than it is wide is the beginnings or an earth wouldn't you or can't you read what's on the ground just rely on ya dog to lead ya round with ya white stick could be a fecking big rabbit a Edited by leethedog

Don't live in the city then where there's no rabbits or badgers then eh ? Next time you go into the city on a train have a look at the railway banks , Urban earths loads of multi eyed earths lol.

I watched a vixen drawing an earth one evening when stalking on the opposite valley to me .it was sandy and she shifted some dirt too in the very same manner of a terrier pulling back with her front f

I suppose so mate I'm no expert some of the people there look a bit closely related if I'm honest

never found a fox in a tree , interesting

seen one up a tree in the middle of cover one morning when i thought hounds had put one to ground. Sat tight like a cat looking down on the hounds while they scrambled looking up and running around confused. It got away too, i gave it too much of a fair chance. Survival of the fittest, i can't argue with that.

They like lime trees a lot but have had three in an oak tree.

Canal banks full of em, no rabbits about and always new holes being dug. Was a few ton of sand dumped on the Middle of our local playing fields, within a few weeks the foxes had made it into a massive earth with about 20 holes. Always a good few foxes standing on top of it at night

Not too many multi holed dens being excavated nowadays due to the fact that they don't get a chance, most foxes accounted for are still at a relatively young age, I'm sure loads will come on now and say they are digging older foxes regularly, but between the dog gun snare and any other means the odds are stacked against them, I know of and have witnessed multi holed badger setts being established in recent years because they have that freedom to do so( mind you I live in one of the worst affected tb hot spots in Ireland), jmo, do you think they get a chance?
