White van man, you don't know how lucky you are in this day and age. Tripe IMO is the caviar of dog food.

We get it from a halal butcher, €5 a whole tripe..........ssshhh....don't mention it in the general section ;-)

Raw green tripe is an excellant additive to the diet of a working dog...   Locally, it is real hard to source,..most Abattoirs prefer to supply the pet food wholesalers..   I raised many litters o

My two terriers didnt do too well on a green tripe rich diet. If he`s already on raw, just add some to his diet. Variety is the spice of life. My 3 dogs all get a bit of tripe still, just not as much. From what I can gather, fresh stuff is better than the processed stuff as all the nutrients from the stomach contents have been cleaned out excessively.

I raised many litters of running dogs on sheeps heads, raw green tripes and lamb carcases...

Great times going to collect the dog meat,.we thought we had hit, pay dirt back then...

It is a great shame that the situation has changed....

Thanks bob. I will just be adding as you say. Just wanted to know what others do as didn't want to vet do it. I will just cut it into pieces and add to each meal. The tripe comes straight from slaughter house so is not processed. Stinks the house out but dog seems to like it!

I thought it was the norm to be able to get it but having spoken to a few people then obviously not. I get my mince and bones off him so he give me a load of tripe to try. The dog liked it so will add to his food. I only pay for mince beef and pasta now. Fish I catch, chicken carcass I get from butcher and rabbit from ferreting/lamping. Greens from what's left from our plates.
