walshie 2,804
Just been tallying up how many bottles Ii need to buy for the various landowners who let me shoot their land. Scotch for the decent ones and wine for the less decent. Still adds up. Good job it's only once a year. What a pleasant surprise earlier when one of them gave me a bottle of Glenmorangie. I wonder if the others will too?

bird 10,014
If a landowner gives you permission to work his land it's only right IMO to show your appreciation at Christmas via a small present of some form ?

Bosun11 537
Back in the day it was a given, a 'must' to show gratitude and it breaks down any barriers, further permo or all the goodies that can come from a farm may come your way over the coming year, eggs and homemade cakes have been made very welcome! Of course its personal preference to give at this time of year and i'd like to think every generation keeps us in a good light and makes the effort to drop a bottle off. Blackberry and apple or other fruit pies. The list is endless with what you can make from foraged produce mainly of their land
smithie 2,444
I've often thought about it but it would cost a fortune I used to carry 20+ permission slips but I give some land up and I'm now down to about 10 or 12. I just could not afford to did it but if they ask me to make them something at work anytime of the year I never say no. I just fit it in to my bosses time so I'm getting paid I'm far from tight just penny less
