Fireworks & Dogs

Recommended Posts

When I have a pup I like to tie several bangers together then attatch them to the pups feet, light them, sit back and enjoy the show. Not only does it get the pup used to bangs it's also funny as f**k

I hope you do it outside.....could be dangerous otherwise mate....

Piriton are worth a try.

Piriton is an anti histamine ... How does that help with fireworks ??? .......

Apparently they can cause drowsiness. I know a few light sleepers who take one to help get a more restful sleep. May be worth trying so see if it calms a panicky dog.

My other Russell dog who's older doesn't notice the bloody things and I never make a big deal out of any load nosies really and its usually quiet at mine so all that bollocks about them taking a cue from you doesn't wash with me.

The bitch however is different kettle of fish and not just with Fireworks ether, Thunderstorms even distant ones can set her off as well.

Although nether of them give a toss at gun noises when out and about???

I tried the Piriton Tablets and they did seem to work cheers for that bit of advice Shepp.

Pleased it helped mate.

My mums a typical tit of an owner who would cause problems. Other night she went should I bring the dog upto my room because of the fireworks. Know treating em any different would cause the dog to act scared. Abit like when people reassure their dog when it acts scared. Anyway while my mums out I've got back garden door open and the dogs actully say there now calm as anything actually looking up n watching em.
