paulus 26
now the cps have dropped all charges against him and a few other celebs surely the cps must now be held accountable for what must be a nightmare to have live with and with there career in tatters or if its thought the women are lying they should be charged or is it no smoke without fire would depend upon the reasons the case was dropped, lack of evidence does not automatically mean the person wasn't guilty, just that its unlikely it could be proven beyond reasonable doubt
scothunter 12,609
Lol exactly paulus He is no different from anyone else that never gets an apology. It's just the way the system works. I know a few lads who have lost jobs etc for that very reason and were eventually found not guilty.

TOMO 28,631
the women should be named & shamed and put a liars offenders list. As was said above,,,it don't mean the women were lying,,,,,I know a young lass that was raped,,,,she reported it straight away,,,police didn't believe her,,,,8 years went by,,,,this fella raped more women,,,,then they cought him,,and eventually believed her ..... walshie 2,804
It was so long ago that I reckon anyone's testimony could be questioned. Whether he's guilty but they can't prove it or innocent, there's always going to be that cloud over him.

keepdiggin 9,567
sorry I should of worded it better, women\men who lie about things like that should be put on an offenders list.
onion jonny 527
i think they should always be named, its easy to accuse someone then he/she will suffer whether innocent or not yet the accusser goes away scot free even if they have lied and ruined someones life. Blackbriar 8,569
sorry I should of worded it better, women\men who lie about things like that should be put on an offenders list. But even if a defendant is found 'not guilty', that doesn't necessarily mean that the accuser lied. There has been no suggestion that these allegations were malicious, simply that there was insufficient evidence to provide enough certainty of securing a conviction. There are almost never any witnesses to a rape, so it nearly always boils down to circumstantial, interpretted or character evidence. And remember that the defendant does not have to prove his innocence, so victims, already traumatized by their ordeal, face embarrassing, intimidating or almost slanderous questioning when they appear in court. The simplest solution, to me, is that the defendant is afforded the same anonymity as his accuser, unless and until he is found guilty. Seems straightforward enough to me !
