forest of dean redneck 12,023
There's a cattle trough in Dorset in a hedge with weed and sticklebacks in it,don't know who put them in there, but was there when I was a school kid,and was still there when I checked in late 2010.
paulf 820
you can keep fish in most sized objects stig but you must keep a source of oxygen at all times if its not very big ,definitely in summer .Metal can leech some crap into the water over time but if its good enough for farm animals ect then I cant see why not .A little fountain is a good source of oxygen btw ..and also worth thinking about if its not very big you will need some kind of filter .

Rake aboot 4,936
The zinc will leach into the water and kill any fish. You could line it, or paint it with a liner paint, or just not put fish in it. Or you could spend more than 15 pence, and get a Blagdon infinity or something like it.
forest of dean redneck 12,023
There's been sticklebacks in that trough for 30 year or more ,so they are pretty immune to it.

RubyTex 1,957
Get your spade out and get digging stig lol, a nice koi pond should do the trick. Had a 12 ft x 8 ft, 7 ft deep (with about 2 ft raised), years ago, all sorts of expensive koi, ghost koi, orfe, sturgeon, goldfish etc, massively expensive filtration system the £ that my dad put into that was serious
