Outlaw Pete 2,224
Now, I'm sitting back in my chair, relaxing, as I read shit on the screen here. Not dragging my chair right up to my desk, then leaning forward to peer into the screen from inches away! And, since getting home with my Ringing glasses too, I caught a bird I'd already ringed. It was f**king Fantastic! I just held its little leg and looked at the ring: D075162 It Really was That clear to me! God bless modern science and opticians, that's all I can say! Until this afternoon, I'd spent the last better part of a year seriously fretting about my ability to read a ring (Thus remain a Ringer!) Even my boss was making old fashioned sounds about the results of my next eye test. I'd made one or two gaffs I was sliding into Big f**king trouble there! Now ....? Eyes like a f**king hawk! I'm So f**king happy!!!

Outlaw Pete 2,224
Kay; Stop That Shit! Seriously; Get it sorted, love. I had my last eye test / glasses made, five years ago. I've since probably spent about as much, on corner shop 'Reading Glasses' as I have in taxi fares to get these amazing eyes back. You're patently a good few years younger than me. But, believe me; Once the f**kers start to go? It's free fall. And, I personally think that trying to just muddle through and 'stare harder' is just f**king our eyes even faster. Strains them. There! I've just had to sit back from the screen, because I was loosing focus. Leaning toward it, see? Force of habit. Clip that shit in the bud. Gently help your eyes along. Don't just leave them to wear out, then berate them and kick them. That's my take on it, anyway.
Outlaw Pete 2,224
Tiny; My first wife wore contacts. They didn't come without their costs. Having To take them out, every night. Fall asleep and they'd bond to ye eyeballs and render ye blind?! F**k that! I only need glasses for this sort of shit. I couldn't, now, possibly try to read a book without them. God knows what I scribbled on the form, when they asked me to sign a bit of paper today! Couldn't see a f**king thing, without my new glasses! But, yeah; I can see where I'm going and what the Dogs are up to. No problem there. Mate of mine wears his all the time! I really can't imagine what that must be like. What the f**k is he seeing when he takes them off ....?!

Outlaw Pete 2,224
was it worth going to the big smoke then ? Funny as ye should mention that. Because, as I was grumping, to the taxi driver, about how much all this was costing me, in fares alone ..... I pointed out how it cost me €100.00 to get to the hospital. He concurred that he was aware of how I couldn't handle a train. That a bus would be as bad, for me. I started to relate how I'd recently tried to discuss this very matter with another, taxi driver, mate recently. And how I'd started to come apart, right there in the passenger f**king seat! Five minutes later, at my gate, I got out as a quivering wreck! Today then, I just cranked up the volume on my " Lah, lah, lah, lah laaaaah!!! " vocalisations and ..... Sorry. F**k this. No. I just can't take this. Don't know how the f**k I painted myself into this corner anyway. I was talking about glasses, FFS!

Outlaw Pete 2,224
Send your prescription to selectspecs.com Cheap as chips and quick (ish). Been told about them before. Unfortunately, it's all part of the racket we have to pretend not to notice, here. I never see any 'Prescription'. Craic is this; I pay €30.00 to get a taxi to the opticians. Then, I pay the opticians €30.00 to test my eyes and let me pick some cheap, plastic frames. They then send my form off to the health service. Ages later, long after the opticians ring me, to say my glasses are waiting, I get that form back, from the HS. It's stamped, to say they'll pay for my glasses (€100.00) and my eye test. I then pay another €30.00 taxi fare to go and get my glasses. Giving the opticians the rubber stamped form. We exchange knowing looks and I walk away. See what they just did there ....?
