baw 4,360
I don't agree with killing BOP for the sake of a few poxy pheasants that some lard arsed shotters going to maim anyway. Any keeper caught killing them should be jailed IMO.So a man killing a bop should go to jail trying to protect his livelihood. I suppose a man running a hare should face the same then...surely that's worse as it's just for fun?? no lab, he should not go to jail, but his boss who pay his wages, + for a house, motor should have in (enough birds )or poults in the 1st place, to cover losses from all kinds of predators 4 legs+ feather . fact . in a nutshell there should have more than enough bird there, they know the law on there side regards 4 legged vermin to control, so both the keeper+boss have+are not doing there jobs proper when they loose birds to any kind of predator mammal or bird , if they not got enough birds there to cover losses :notworthy: :notworthy: :notworthy: :notworthy:

See the next time you go to Asdas and buy a loaf of bread, buy yourself another 6 loafs and hand them round the local thiefs just incase they steal them.
Lab 10,979
Actually bird I've read your post again and I'm trying not to laugh. Could you tell me how the best keeper in the world could stop poult kills by bops with legal methods. I'm sure there's lots of lads on here that would love to know how it's done....cheers lol
baw 4,360
It can't be lab, neither can you stop them getting run over. I'd assume loss is part and parcel to the industry and is therefore covered by having more to balance it out.
baw 4,360
I don't see how game keepers are surprised BOP take pheasants, your putting a tame bird into the wild, what do you expect to happen release a 1000 budgies, see how many survive and start killing everything that takes them

STRANGER 948
What about wild bird keepers (grouse, grey partridge etc) are they just to accept the losses and the fact they cannot produce a viable shooting population and therefor will be out of a job? What about the small time farmers whos loss of 10 or more lambs can mean the difference between farming and not farming? what about populations of wild birds who suffer greatly from predation (not necessarily just game birds) brought on by the fact there are too many raptors such as Black Grouse, ptarmigan etc? I don't condone shooting BOP, just find peoples opinions interesting.
