Bollocks the lot of it, good story, but he dies in the end........ You couldnt make it up.....oh wait.....they did...... And that is a point I have argued/debated many times with followers of the white christ, they seem unable (more likely unwilling) to take on board the fact that their whole religion is based on words written down in a book, by humans, it is no more feasible than any one of us writing a book and proclaiming it as the word of god, if that is what you wish to believe then good luck, and if people find comfort in it then it has done some good at least, but for me and many others I will stick with the old beliefs, that were here in this country long long before the dessert religion was brought here and forced on the people, to bind them, control them, and tell them how to live their lives in a pious fashion, as the Norsemen used to say, the white christ demands you kneel in subservience to him, ODIN demands you stand head held high. Somebody has been watching Vikings :laugh: Sadly Mushroom there aren't that many round here to watch :cray:I do however, make a close study of Norse/Saxon Beliefs, customs ect and although my own "pagan" beliefs are not based around the Norse traditions, I do find the ancient gods of our germanic ancestors fascinating, as indeed I do with all pre christian belief systems. 1 Quote Link to post Share on other sites

I've always believed they were just symbolic,and mostly misinterpreted through having been viewed and studied mostly by christians who couldn't grasp the concept of a non-linear religion. Doesn't that say more about the human condition than the existence of God? Perhaps when some have seen the shite there is in the world they need to put some reason to it all to make some sense of it, to keep their own direction and focus in life. It's not very comforting to live in a world where right and wrong have no real worth. Or where really bad shit can happen and go unpunished. Very true and strange this Wilf. My mum kind of turned away from Church after our kid died at 14. Me I always feckin hated it but if anything in all seriousness I lean more towards Buddhism just for the peace and meditation side of things, I got into this through Thai boxing before our kid died and found myself questioning it when he did which was strange as I have no belief of an afterlife or any Harry Potter in the sky shite full stop. Neems I know where you are coming from, the concept of none linear religion is alien to the christians I know, and this is why many hang on to the Adam and Eve/doomesday trains of thought, I also take your point about the synbolic meaning of the gods, although the creator/creatrix mother goddess and consort figure strongly in my beliefs, I like the article, with the wolves/dogs analagy, how very true, but that is a subject for another day my friend, a discussion at some point between us would be most interesting I feel Quote Link to post Share on other sites

She started getting into this holy holy shit someone introduced her to, can't mind the name, friends of Jesus or some pish, basically a cult.
