Hawk Flying To My Ferret

Recommended Posts

I'd love to see it, a local guy years ago used to fly a hawk and I really enjoyed watching him, If you would like to come fly your hawk whilst I ferret rabbits out for you I'd appreciate it as would love to see it, you would have to tell me how much space they need etc but I'm sure there is something suitable here

Ive done this a few times myself with a female Harris, great to watch but always amazed me that the hawk doesn't go for the ferret if no rabbits bolt

I suppose so, I never saw the training I just helped out hunting a few times so it surprised me that if no rabbits bolted then the hawk would just wait patiently in a tree while we put the ferrets back down

some of the best sport to be had imo, bolting rabbitts with a ferret to a harris hawk, outstanding fun, and very effective as well. A hawk thats steady to ferrets will just plain ignore them, same as stock steady dogs, i used to love it.
