Nelson Mandela in his own words:

The then-President PW Botha told Mandela that he would be released from prison,if he renounced violence. He refused at the time, and never did so, during his life. Even during his time in prison, he sanctioned, and refused to condemn, countless acts of violence - most of the victims were, in fact, the people he claimed to represent.

 

By his own admission, one of many actions directly sanctioned by Mandela, the peace-bringer, was this act of community cohesion..............
