apparently Hendrix was asked how does it feel to be the greatest guitarist in the world, to which he replied you need to ask rory Gallagher that one. or words to that effect  rory is amazing but I think Hendrix was being modest, not taking away from the g man of course.

Just read this and was dumbstruck that nobody had mentioned him,, the guy was incredible. Even Hendrix reckoned he was the best

But anyway. Brian May

IF anyone wonders what he was all about before he went mad here it is ,, one of the best albums ever recorded. The man was a genius.

Obviously the best is a hard thing to name. Jimmie Hendrix was great, but I'd like to mention few more I admire. (No particular order)

Buddy Guy

Eric Clapton

Stevie Ray

Joe Satriani

Carlos Santana

BB King

Phil Keaggy ( You think Hell, and Detroit are tough, try Youngstown Ohio)

Chuck Berry

Doak Short (my friend)

Jimmy Page

Jeff Beck

Alvin Lee

Muddy waters

There are plenty of other greats as well.

Rake... As I said before Ste Vai, as gifted as he is, lives in a parallel universe where must think people tap their feet to his twangs and runs, the minute he flips out in the film Crossroads I knew he was a loon and don't start me on Yngwie, who's names as bad as his playing....
