My views are that there is no fecking way Assad would have been stupid enough to use chemical weapons and invite the west in to attacking him. Al Quadi over run a chemical weapons factory not long ago and also in Turkey a flat was raided where they found some....of course it never gets in our news because it doesn't fit to the propaganda we are being fed.

Or because it never happened. :whistling: I was OK with taking action at the beginning. But at this point I have to agree with staying out of it.

Lets just let the chips fall were they may.

Yeh exactly

I'm not ok with it at all, I wasn't ok with Libya either although that might be due to the fact that I was working there at the time :D

Iraq is a different matter, forget about terrorists or any other crap, we needed to change the dynamic in the middle east for our own strategic and economical gains without a doubt so we went in, kicked ass and now British and US oil companies are drilling loads of oil wells.

I find it truly terrifying that Western governments get all gung-ho and want to go to war with another country that hasn't targeted them. Us in this case. Thankfully, some very uncommon, common sense has been shown. It's all very well being appalled and shocked at what is happening over there, but when other 'super' powers are involved, it could have got very nasty indeed, with who know what repercussions wreaked on the British population.

The middle East is a stage where future world order is being played out, theres far more at stake than most seem to realise, rushing into something would have been a catastrophic mistake, unless a clear outcome is known and is achievable then intervention just does not help. take Iraq or Afghanistan what has actually been achieved :hmm: have the peoples lives been made better :hmm: is the world a safer place :hmm: can anyone honestly say, either was worth the loss of life :hmm: Britain needs to concentrate on its own domestic issues and let the rest of the world play its own war games.

Said it before these (mostly) Islamic country's are 400/500 years behind most of the western world,

We went through it as did America and most of Europe have all gone through their own civil wars why should it be our responsibility to police these nations

I sympathise with innocents but only their own people can bring about a change if that is what they want. We have not been thanked for our involvement in Iraq, Afghanistan or Lybia, remember the Lybian revolutionists WE supported smashing up the British war cemetary to cries of Al Akbar?

IMO not one of our brave young lads is worth sacrificing to this ungrateful lot.

There was only a few votes in it though. What amazes me is 272 MPs voted to go in there! I think their names should be published so that come voting time the British people know who not to vote for.

We are permenant members of the UN security council and should behave in a manner befitting it , according to international law if it is found he has used chemical weapons in contravention of international law. We must join in other members who take action , But what i want to know is were the fook is the UN SPECIAL PEACE ENVOY.

I'd agree, except that the voting public are only interested in reality television phone ins.

The only people wanting another war are the ones that don't have to fight it, or send their loved ones.
