Will build it up a bit more and more and start a bit of lamping in the nest month or so to get them sharp then run them on the odd long ear ect.. Quote Link to post

sandymere 8,263
Takes at least 10 weeks to gain any true fitness but only 10 days to start losing muscle so I keep em fit all year just increase the ball work prior to lamping. I train all year and as most is running the dogs come with me in the summer and then as they will chase a ball to the point of collapse I can push them pretty hard. 1 Quote Link to post

I agree with that , keep 'em to a good level of fitness all summer and you'll start well in September. I just like seeing 'em sprawled and soaking up the summer sun this time of year also. Yes a bit of sun on their backs does the world off good, I'm lucky in that I live by the sea I can do plenty of ball work on the beach and into the surf to keep em cool even in this weather. Then back home to lie in the sun till it gets to much and they seek the cool kennel area. Edited July 11, 2013 by sandymere Quote Link to post
