stewie 3,387
I think Fergie may have protected him better early on and been strong enough to get rid of a lot of the hangers on.......who knows If......if.....if.........if your sister had bollocks shed be your brother. i guess thats true mate........ shame either way but he did work under some good managers in his playing career, but like you say who knows........ Bosun11 537
Truth be told, I don't think Gazza has it mentally to come through... Very sad to say but I honestly think thats the case... Those that have tried to help, fair play to them but maybe it's run its course now... I for one, find it hard to read about someone I once seen as so great being so low... Don't know what else to say... I wish him well...
stewie 3,387
Funny enough ( and maybe a little off topic) but this is where I think the influx of foreign players has actually been of benefit.....not for most of them the beer & nightclub mentality so favoured by British players upto Gazzas generation Old Jonny Foreigner ate well, trained well and generally looked after themselves.......... true again..........but what england side has been as good as them lot since??? gnasher16 31,572
the money they have wasted on gazza , could of saved plenty of young lifes.........fact gnasher don't make me out to be a bad person ,......I have morals and I would sooner chuck a few coins in a charity box(of my chosen charity) than give to a beggar to help fuel there addiction ,.........which 9/10 will go on alchahol or drugs......... we had a charity fun day for my late wife on Saturday and raised £4000 for st margrets hospice..........like I said priority and morals is me you cant blame money / stardom on alchahol addiction..............maybe you aught to go round a childrens hospice and look at them on there death bed and then read this thread again,......... Firstly i wasnt making you out to be anything i was simply saying why kick a man while he,s down......any man. Secondly.......in the last 10 years ive probably given more to a certain childrens charity in this area.....than you have earned ...... Its not about morals and priorities....................being respectful towards your reasoning.....i,ll leave it there. Edited July 12, 2013 by gnasher16

gnasher16 31,572
Just a thought, I wonder if he would be in the place he is now if he had Fergie as a manager?fergie would of meant f**k all to gazza compared to bobby and he still ended up like this!!!. Nah bobby was not a stong person great manager but dont think he would be a strong a charater as old red nose Im not so sure about that.....i listen to Alan Brazil a lot on talksport while driving he reckons Bobby Robson could be a real disciplinarian.....sure,he was a nice man and a good person.......but i reckon he was a strong enough character when he needed to be. Frann 882
People are only trying to help the man, I see no harm there. When I was ill (drinking) I was fortunate enough to have parents who could send me to a very expensive rehab. My thanks? Hitting the vodka three weeks after coming out. Im ashamed now of course (and I still drink but try to control it) but this boozing man, its a strong grip. Like I say im not a lover of football, in fact the sport leaves me cold, but I do feel sorry for Gazza. Fame and money wont help him here and he will die soon.
