How Brave Am I?

Recommended Posts

To put the drops in easily......lie on your back on the bed or sofa, drop the drops into the corner of your eye nearest your nose and slowly move your head from side to side - that will wash the drops over the surface of your eye.

Hope you are back to normal soon.

ffs , i had my eye scraped with a needle when i got metal in it, they got 14 pieces out my eye on a saturday and i had to go back on the monday for more out...

dont grind with loose fitting goggles on (or none at all) cause its not nice seeing some one approaching your eye with a needle and knowing if you move it could be the last thing you see

I got something in my eye on Sunday, rubbed it and then it felt O.K. When I got into bed, it started watering and I bathed it and it felt O.K again.

Monday felt O.K right up till bedtime, so did yesterday.

When I got up this morning it had swollen up and nearly closed. I took myself off to the eye hospital as it was blurry and after waiting 2 hours, I was told to come back in an hour as the Doctor was "having her lunch."

A 3 hour wait with no smoking in the hospital grounds gave me plenty of time to imagine the worst, like sharp instruments being rammed in my eye, but when it came down to it, it was quite easy......right up till she tried to turn my top lid inside out to have a look. I nearly puked on her and everyone in the waiting room I'm sure could hear me retching. (Bit funny about eyes.)

She tried again, same result, then she looked using one of those microscope things. My heart sank when she said "Oh". She put some dye in my eye, shone a bright blue light in it then told me I had a torn cornea, but the foreign body was no longer there.

And I didn't even get a "I was brave" badge or anything. :cray:

I've got to take eye drops 3 times a day for 2 days and cream 5 times a day for 3 days. How the hell am i going to get that lot in my eye when it makes me feel sick just holding my eyelid?

man up you fanny

lol

I had a drill bit shatter and hit me in the eye last year didn't hurt straight away but when I looked in the mirror and see blood coming from my cornea it started hurting and I had the worst headache I've ever had for 3 days after I always wear goggles when working now haha

Eyes are scary, everything else is fine. I had a wound open to the bone in my left shin for months and only went back to the hospital when it went green and started to smell, but anything in my eyes makes me run in to wash it out and get a scotch to calm my nerves :)

Walshie enough of the sob story, have you finished that barbeque yet or are you stalling for time :hmm::laugh:

I can hardly finish it when I'm on the critical list can I?

Just the legs to go, and paint, and handles, and grill, and vents. O.K It still looks like an oil drum cut in half.
