blackgreyhound 206
bunnys.you are right i have seen some saluki x greyhounds that were so slow i thought i was seeing things they were low powered pieces of shite .i would have give them a cartridge .some people think oh i am going to buy a saluki greyhound.and kill hares pish.some people buy greyhounds and think they are going to win the greyhound derby but they dont.i have put greyhounds on hares preban and some were so slow the couldnt even turn the hare .not alll salukixgrey are fast enough the same as A11 greyhounds are not .open racedogs dont allways breed open race winners.so it stands to logic and reason not all saluki x greyhounds will be fast enough for hares Quote Link to post
Wxm 1,638
ohh ffs the kennels / rescues / pounds are all going to be over run with people dropping of their saluki x's so they can get a gsd x in. Quote Link to post
baldockbanks courser 598
hot meat. i am no more blind than a saluki fanactic Because you own a saluki x why you a fanatic on them? I've got 1 saluki Lurcher and 1 bull wheaton greyhound for lamping salukis have there short falls but for a good 1 killing strong hares won't be one of them! If I was just in 2 coursing like 10 years ago I'd own 2 saluki xs. The whell don't need reinventing there the best tried and tested dog to consistently kill hares going out with the cross your on about will be like taking a knife to a gun fight! Your not far from me don't kill all the hares next season please. Quote Link to post

desertbred 5,490
I think enough has been said on this subject, blackgreyhound you are fishing for people to agree withyour line of thought. From some of the statements you make it is obvious yo knowlittle or nothing about saluki or thier x,s and dont think that dogs have been bred for specific jobs. Out on the land is where dogs are tested not on a keyboard you will have a good few years of breeding your gsdx gry etc before you can even put it to the test 4 Quote Link to post

Your original post was something like "Why the MALXGEY OR GSDXGREY will be faster that saluki and now you're muttering about longnets, bushing, big quarry and gundog work...you've not just moved the goalposts mate your cut them up and burnt them...and is the ability to survive in the wild uppermost in the minds of folk when deciding to go along the malxgrey gsdxgrey route????? I think not mate... What's in your breeding mate? I'm reckoning there's a touch of Brian Plummer and Jack London in there somewhere... Quote Link to post

We're you live in Bedfordshire the fields are big eneough for a saluki Lurcher! I've run there plenty and my old dogs didn't lose mean in the wood or hedges. Get yourself 1, mind you the police wouldn't be able to prosecute you with an Alsatian x they'd laugh that out of court saying you use that for hares, second thaults stick with what you have. 1 Quote Link to post
