Lol, there's a lad called Nonito Donaire who I've had my eye on for a little while and he is an absolute menace when the bell rings. If you get chance try looking up a highlight reel of him, he's a right handful.

Aye it was mate but there's no denying they had a square go

went off big time hagler thought he was in beruit

That was a memorable night a few of us 20 year olds went along to support a few of the older local lads Sylvester Mittee got a win Ray Cattouse got stopped on cuts if i remember right...........all of a sudden we,re in the middle of a riot we all come away saying " what was all that about " :D .......

Dont know if you lads are old enough to remember ( now who sounds 96 ! ).......but Minter had said before the fight " I will never lose my title to a black man ".........oooops !!!!.........The trouble was started by a bunch of national front in the crowd it was a nasty horrible atmosphere and boxing as a sport suffered that night when it was nothing to do with boxing.

Yeah Minter was too upright and easy for Hagler to catch. Not many people could stand with Hagler whilst taking punches that cleanly.

I met Alan Minter at the Danny Williams vs Julius Francis rematch, he seemed a nice bloke.

Quite possibly i cant remember now.....i might be wrong but i think Sibson was the only man to ever stop Minter in all his losses,he had a good chin he just opened up too easy.

Hagler would have to be in any top 10 all time greats list one of the only fighters i ever saw who just had no weakness to his game at all.

Yeah I think you're right, there's not really 1 thing you could say about Hagler and call it a weakness. Speed kings with movement could trouble him but he was relentless, possibly one of the toughest and most determined fighters I've seen.

He just looked as hard as nails as well lol.

I used to go out with a bird and her dad had boxed at repton boys club, a real nice man who's claim to fame was that he had beat Minter as a kid ! Lol

What I will ask you lads who obviously know your boxing, is there a fighter boxing at the moment who you think will be spoken of in the way you are talking about some of the people above?
