baw 4,360
Do they still give primary kids milk? I hated the milk, warm, smelled sour cos it had been lying in a stinking unwashed crate.
WILF 48,925
My oldest daughter starts at my old school this year and one of the teachers that used to have to deal with me on a regular basis is now the deputy head !! We went to look round with my girl a few time and when I walked in the bloke did a proper double take!!......I said to my wife, there's no way after 25 years and 6 stone heavier that he remembers me, surely?? Luckily, my kids are much nicer than I ever was and schools are pretty cool places now days......certainly better than the " grange hill" type of places of yesteryear

Very true mate, and I am not so nieve as to think I won't have stuff to deal with but the one difference is my kids have no reason to be anything like I was as a kid , their situation is and will remain totally different to mine. Still, we will do the best we can as things arise and try and stick to the general plan of normal and boring family life with the emphasis put on doing lots of positive outside things
downsouth 8,081
Best time of your life. Can anyone remember the school bag they had? Started school with one of those brown satchels but soon got a red tartan duffle bag. I thought it was the dogs bollox hole one side, pull the straps it shut, slung over shoulder aged 5 with the swagger can mind stealing vw badges first year, beastie boys were big then. Grolsch tops in the laces, you'd forget about them and play football, ooooft. Snow ball fights were 1st & 2nd year v's the rest collecting birds eggs lunch time, had a ring box with cotton wool to keep them in. Conkers were great too, trying everything from soaking in vinegar to baking them to get an advantage lol. Good times good times, what's your memories? Grolsch tops,Was you a big Bros fan?
baw 4,360
Yea wilf I hear you mate. It's the drugs and stuff around now that's scary. We drank but that was it. I never had a spliff till I was about 19, made up for it though now cannabis is the least of the worries compared to half the shit they take. Coke still frightens me but the young ones take it like its nothing.
