jigsaw 11,902
well after 30+years ive rehomed my 2 ferrets yesterday.Due to the lack of rabbits and the cost of geting out and the effort put in and the end of day results I decided to take a break from rabbiting until hopefully things improve.I have the nets put away, the locator safetly hidden and the ferret boxes must now be cleaned and stored. The kelpie x wont know whats going on but we'll walk out on other assignments, lol.hopefully next year I'll get back into rabbit slaying. Country Joe 1,411
Years when a lot younger i would be out day and night, taking a good number of rabbits, now i just love getting out with the Ferrets and the Whippet if i pick up four or five rabbits, which I usually come home with im happy, just to be out with myself and the Dog. in fact recently i was on a farm on my own the ferreting was good with rabbits bolting quickly, I ended up with a dozen, as my car was four fields away, I had to carry my bag, my net bag, ferrets and spade and a dozen rabbits. so as i say not looking for big numbers but having 42 years of ferreting under my belt, im still enjoying it. Jigsaw, im sure you will be back. ATB, CJ. Quote Link to post
