lanesra 4,007
I was bitten by a Police Dog it holed me and hurt like hell , people say if a dog bite me I'd do this that or the other . . . Well believe me once a powerful dog bites you your instinct is too get as far away from that dog as possible certainly not fight back lol , as for Guard dogs I've a whippet , friendliest dog you could ever meet but anyone comes near my house and he goes berserk , I'm convinced if that person proceeded to try and take the dog from his kennel he would die before he would leave his kennel with a stranger and the way he Carrys on only someone desperate or stupid would take the chance , and I've a terrier that wouldn't make a squeak and he would wag his tail while he was taken lol.

j1985 1,984
But 100% under control always, he lives in a family environment and is a real social happy dog. Yet when at training he thrives of being put under pressure and bites like an alligator.
FLATTOP 5,167
Had this situation happen a few years ago i was out and my teenage son was alone in the back yard with our Shar-pei an idiot jumped on the fence the dog latched onto his leg started ragging it whilst my son was smashing the bloke with a metal dog lead wasnt his day, Shar-pei awesome guard dog they are verging on obsessive when it comes to being territorial.

Would you reccomend shar pei as a guard? How bad is their dog aggression? im restricted on what breeds of dog that im allowed to keep due to my tenancy agreement... In other words most breeds of bullterrier and guarding breeds are banned... Exception to that is the mali but they are quite high maintanence
