Millet 4,497
Not the best of night's for it but me and Moll decided to have a mooch around with the lamp..with Boo the pocket rocket and Lil the pup..it was a 2hr drive for Moll but the night was already planned and you never know what will happen till you get there.. On arriving to the spot the wind was up a little and i thought great we should be in for a good night..but as usual the wind quickly dropped to a quiet white cloud filled night..making it a lot brighter than it should of been with a new moon nearing.. The first couple of field's we done held a good few but these are hard bunnies and have seen the lamp several time's now..so as you can guess most of them where near the hedge's and full steam ahead once the lamp was on them. We got a couple out of there but no where near as many as we would have if the wind was up.. After walking the rest of the farm we did get a good few more run's out of desperation more than anything..not as many as we should of again.. but i heard a rifle shot on the neighbouring permission which led me to belive some one else had been there before us shooting the bunnies over the fence..not too worry though both dog's did well imo with the jumping recall and retrieving being spot on with maybe the odd hick up with the pup bringing the odd one within 5ft and not in my hand i blame another dog being presant but it's all learning for her at the end of the day and at 10 1/2mth i am well pleased with her.. Poor Boo got mainly all the hard impossible run's with him being the adult dog on the night..but he never sickened and kept plugging away like the little soldier he is.. ..i just hope as the season progresses we can get a few more good night's out together...and some equaly good run's.. Here is the End of the night picture which was better than vegetating on here.. . 11 Quote Link to post
