Might be worth a watch, bit disgruntled with the BBC at the moment with the recent revelations especially now Emu is claiming Rod Hull was fisting him for years

I am sure that the BBC will do their usual stirling job of providing balanced coverage of both sides of the topic

Its only worth watching for the weather forecast its the only bit they seem to get right

They acknowledged that badgers 'played a part in bovine TB.......... mentioned the cull

And then in the next sentence made out as if the future of badgers were uncertain (presumably hinting that a cull means total eradication) or at least probably hoping thats what the public will think

The questionability of badger propaganda is fraught with nominalisations, the public are not being supplied with any real definition but being led into using their own supposition and perception which at times can readily confuse them into believing they know what exactly is being said.

Because there are no precise or commonly shared perceptions about the nominalised words being used they make joe public vulnerable to self deception and manipulation, this is why they are beloved of politicians, anti's and anyone else with an ideology to promote.

Surely they need more substance and definition within statements to help them decide if it is truly wrong for any animal not just badgers to be culled, but as we are all aware certain factions are open to the manipulation of voters.

It's not what they say on the programme, it's the underlying emphasis on the countryside being purely a beautiful place for people to observe and wander around in. Now't wrong with that at all, but they steer clear of any mention of certain species being a pest to certain people: i.e. foxes being nuisance predators, and when did they last mention rabbits as pest?

They are clever at only portraying certain aspects of country life, and ignoring others: this, to me, paints a rather too rosy picture of nature and very seldom the conflict that some species cause between those who work in the country (farmers, keepers etc) and the damage that some animals cause to their livelihood. The subliminal message behind it all is very one-sided.

Does anyone know if they have ever done a feature on rabbiting?
