Rabbithunter 456
TONIGHT Well, with the wind howling, plans were made with the GH , despite growing concerns of when my baby is going to arrive. I trusted my instincts 'wont be tonight' Had a busy day with no time to make tea, I grabbef 2 tandoori kebabs and one for Gh and had 'food on ty he move' I arrived about 1015, and went in for the obligatory 'cuppa tea & a crack' although ive told gh hundreds of timed I dont drink tea Well, the wind had no buggered off well & truly, however the rain was persistant & the plans were already set. We decided to just take one dog, Tyson, leaving Bess in her kennel. The idea was to just drive some fields We quickly spotted a field that held a few but decided to just walk it, picking up 2. We moved on and drove a field, accounting for 1. Moved again and walked for 1. I thought that was it for the night but we remembered we were close to a massive field that we spotted the previous night. So we headed there, parked up then on our toes. The night was still very calm & I said ilk be happy with 6, to make ten. We entered the STUBBLE field, anybody who has seen tyson work, wilk know the stubble is his 'favourite' terrain We quickly bagged 3 or 4 & by time we got to the top we had 8 I think. My fingers couldnt take anymore as I had left the bag in car. So we dumped themand gave the dog a rest. We spotted a fox & a roe but they werent on the menu.. I thought to myself I would like another 8.. And we quickly got it Me & rick had the same idea' another 10 would be nice. Irritatingly the mist came dowbn thick & fast and we couldnt see a thing. Bback to the motor & we drove up field to collect the rabbits. Ended with a nice round 20, plenty of good crack & laughs LAST NIGHT Went to bed about 11. At about 1115 I had a text off the GH 'winds up if u fancy it' So I rang him, made plans, and back out of bed & headed to his house. We went to our destination, and bess picked up the first. Tyson then killed 5 without missing. I then thought we were in for a half decent night, but I was wrong. We came off with 8 rabbits (well 9 if you include 1 that got 'lost') Tyson made a good catch, through a square in the pig mesh fence, I had to assist him, as the rabbit got itseelf wrapped up. Not happy with 8, I sed well try another spot & get 2 more. The plan was to run Tyson out the motor & drive a field..... He killed 4. So we ended on 12. Tysonseems to b a natural running alongside , although I havent done much driving with him. 3 Quote Link to post
