zini 1,939
Hi lads and lasses, In this episode of VerminHuntersTV you will see the results of 2 shooting sessions spread over 2 days. In session 1 the shortest session we filmed you will see me shooting wood pigeon on mine and Davy’s permission with my fiancée Laura – Jayne (LJ) acting as the camera woman. The pigeons we are shooting are being humanely dispatched for the protection of crops at the location we are shooting at. In session 2 you will see me and Davy back at that location and another permission where horses are bread and trained shooting a rabbit and more of the crop stealing wood pigeons. The rifles that we use for both sessions are single shot Weihrauch HW97KT spring piston rifles, all sub 12 foot pound air rifles in .22 calibre. The pellets that we both use are H & N Field Target Trophy pellets at 5.53mm head size. Please enjoy and don’t forget to leave your comments at the end. Si & Davy. 1 Quote Link to post

wedge2409 98
Nice shooting and video,Si and Davy.Unfortunatly you will always get someone with nothing better to do than criticise something they wish they were capable of doing.Having met you both one thing I am 100%sure of is you don't take pot shots. So for me lads if you are confident of a clean kill be it 30yrds our 60yrds take the shot,simple.ATVB..Ste 1 Quote Link to post
albert64 1,882
good vid zini some people think that if they cant do it it should'nt be done, you keep doing what you do mate i've hunted with dogs and ferrets 40 yrs this yr, never realy bothered with air rifles till the farmer wanted some pidgeons sorting in his feed sheds, if it was'nt for people like yourself passing on your knowledge, skill and time people like myself would'nt have the confidence to take the long range shot i regularly take rabbits at 60yds if conditions allow learn your gun practice, practice learn your hold over, hold under just got my gun back from a&m and started using h&n's very happy with them they dont half hit hard albert 2 Quote Link to post

Mawders 595
Another awesome video chaps! We all expect nothing less from you two. What I really lived about this episode guys was the tutorial at the end, I wish you could do a little something like that at the end of all your vids. I certainly learnt something about the pigeon anatomy. Si - you sir are sick! Your shooting knows no bounds! That longe range pigeon shot and showed again in slow mo was epic! Truly awesome skills! In response to your request about short or long range shots! DO NOT stop doing what your doing! Change nothing / everything is spot on! ATB guys - cant wait for the next one and prefer the springer vids! Phil 1 Quote Link to post
zini 1,939
Thanks all for the comments. We are happy to do what ever needs to be done to improve the channel within reason and do take suggestions into consideration seriously. Next month me and Davy have something very big coming up that we have been asked to keep under wraps until then which will impact on us both massively for the future and who watches us and our channel so we need to ensure that we get it correct now. More to come next month. Si. 1 Quote Link to post

secretagentmole 1,701
Once again the marksman shows his capability. I have taken long range shots, but only when the conditions are right (ie no bleeding wind, I can think up and down but having to factor Beaufort scale computations in as well is a no no) and the shooter in the right frame of mind. Of course I do all my long range work with a PCP which is easier. Might have to get that gas ram out and see what I can do during the lazy summer afternoons when it is too hot for the bunnies! villaman 9,982
Hi Just carry on shooting what ever ranges , both of you are more capable to do these ranges and its taught me a few things as well . KEEP IT UP LADS Quote Link to post
Skot Ruthless Teale 1,701
Absolutely no reason for you 2 to stop taking long range shots. that muppet obviously doesnt know what hes talking about; whereas you 2 do. you goto a lot of effort practising and calibrating your scopes and testing the most accurate pellets for your rifles. you know where to aim spot on with your holdover because you know your rifles. and i dont doubt your shooting abilities one bit. you know what your doing and you do it exceptionaly well. dont listen to that idiot that thinks 35 yards must be the absolute maximum range to shoot vermin with an air rifle.. he doesnt know what hes on about! Keep up the great (long range! ) work guys Thumbs UP . SKoT 1 Quote Link to post
davyt63 1,845
hi every one we intend not to stop the long shots! we just needed some feed back and your views! i think the days of the Air gun magazines stating a distance of 35/40 yds max,has passed on now! time has moved on air guns are getting better & better, and there is so much out there to help air gunners achieve the max out of there air rifle. choice of pellets, chair gun,H.F.T ranges, mildot scopes. and a world of knowledge on the shooting forums. once you find the right combo pellets & air rifle, you would not believe how accurate they can be,in the right hands and practise thanks for your comments they are appreciated Quote Link to post

Keep em coming more the better as far as I'm concerned and take what ever shots you feel to get the job done i know you both have the skill to pull it off, so carry on doing what you do best: Dave Edited July 24, 2012 by hotshot2me Quote Link to post
