Who here didn't get lost at some point growing up? I was 'lost' for 3 hours in a shopping centre once, luckily they convinced my dad to take me back. The hypocrisy on here is quite funny though, one second it's all 'we live in a nanny state' and 'when I was a lad we used to juggle machetes covered in AID's' and then something like this happens and you all jump on the bandwagon saying it's a disgrace. The fathers job is one which makes his whole family a target for terrorists and or any other nutcase who would take a chance to make headlines. Im guessing it takes a lot less than 15 minutes for a child to get abducted. I disagree, i have lost my wallet, my car keys and my bank card, but not one of my kids, then arrived home and thought, ahhhh there at the pub and given myself a wry smile and shaken my head. They are parents who should notice regardless, PLUS they have a security detail......epic fail all round really. I also believe if this was a family from a council estate in any major city and this was reported, social services would be knocking on the door in a shot.............. They are used to having thier kids not around them, and putting thier trust in others to see they don't come to harm and taken care of. But when you are taking a separate car, don't notice the quiet because you are used to it and most likely having to smile and wave at hoards of people then it is very easy to imagine. I am not saying it isn't daft, but I don't see how it reflects on Cameron himself...but his security staff might struggle to get work Also, not everyone is a paedo or a terrorist ffs! This is why parents don't let their kids out anymore, it's ridiculous media-fueled paranoia you can't live a child unnattended for 15 mins without someone trying to bugger them. In my opinion there is a huge difference between allowing your kids out to play and driving home leaving your daughter in a pub whilst you drive home. To be honest as aparent im very carefull when my kids leave my sight, i'd rather be carefull and ensure they have a safe childhood whilst getting out and playing, the world isn't quite as "fun" as when i grew up in the 70's/80's Quote Link to post Share on other sites
