whippet 99 2,613
i think its handy to take a women hunting, just the two of us ,in the middle of no where, with no one around, and opposites attract and all that. i would take thy hand and put it in a warm place and if she says no i will be walking back on my own like mira hindley did

gnasher16 31,602
Moll....im not going to apologise for not being attracted in any way whatsoever to women who enjoy doing what are traditionally mens activities.......to some women a man who enjoys knitting or flower arranging or some other predominantly feminine activity would not be seen as attractive....... Some men might be into women who go hunting......im not......not saying its wrong for them to do it just wrong for me to be with one....its called making choices,i wouldnt go with a female bodybuilder....and i do that as well......simply decision making which we all do. Born Hunter 17,960
Not a problem with it myself. Can't say I would really want a gf into hunting as it's sorta 'my thing' but equally it's not something I would have a problem with I don't think. Certainly wouldn't have an issue with a girl joining me on a day out in the field, worse things have happened. Slightly different subject but I find I'm more concious of how I explain what my passion in life is to a girl (often just trying to dodge the subject) than I am of what she does. Dunno if it's just me or the soft modern world or what but I don't think a fella that loves to hunt is considered particularly attractive........ well, at least my track record doesn't seem to suggest so! Carraghs Gem 1,699
Interesting one this. . . . i've never really met a woman who was into hunting off her own back, i.e it was 'her' thing. But i've had experiance of a number of different woman, who have ended up as hunters or at least tagging a long, due to the men they have choosen to spend their time / life with. My mum is the first example, neither of her parents hunted, and she had never done anything like it, but her grandfather was ferret / dog mad. When she started dating my father, he ended up meeting her grandfather, and a great friendship was started between the two men - old and young. My mum had to get used to her boyfriend disapearing with her grandfather and leaving her at home. Eventually her grandfather passed away, and my dad was left as a solo hunter once again, at this point really intio his ferrets and starting to get big into spaniels. Anyway, long story short, my mum decided that if she wanted to spend more time with her other half, it would have to be in the field, and so from then on, she was my dads right hand man, out with him all the time, ferreting, shooting, poaching, beating and helping look aftr the stock. She was out in the field with him and the dogs right up until a month before i was born, and back out as soon as i was able, with me strapped to her back, in a sling. Fast forward quite a few years, and i met my girlfriend, who had never hunted anything in her life, never seen a ferret close, didnt know what a lurcher was, and thought killing stuff was obviously a bit wierd. Within a couple of months of meeting me she was out doing it all, out ferreting, firing the shot gun, lamping, laying snares etc. She loves the dogs and ferrets and thats a big part of it, i dont think she would ever have got into shooting in the same way. But she is a quick learner, never complains and is quiet as a mouse, a couple of folk on here have been out with me when she has been there, and it's a funny sight, my cute, hippy looking girlfriend, with hair braids, and dreads, and bangles and beads, in a pair of wellies, in the pissing rain, covered in mud and blood, dragging a pile of dead rabbits She's even strted asking about getting a pup. I think we should be encouraging them! Your girlfriend sounds like a lucky girl.... You come across as a real nice fella, although after seeing a pic of you I dont think i'll trade my fella in just yet You cheeky b*****d!!!,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, I spend so much time being an obnoxious sarcastic know it all even when I try to be nice I still come across as obnoxious

That's so sad: poor you But I'm sure there are plenty of women out there who like the idea of their man bringing home the supper he and his dog have caught. But then again, I'm old enough to be really old fashioned and into the hunter/gatherer thing: I've always liked the whole thing of living off the land and its produce, animal or otherwise. You're obviously moving in the wrong circles: we have a lovely female lodger at the moment: she's a tree ranger (no joke!) and although she doesn't hunt, she traps rabbits in the tree nursery and brings them home for her supper. Try looking at some alternative music festivals where the lasses are getting back to their roots.

No need to Gnash, i hear what you are saying. I just cannot understand how a woman with a similar activity to you (use the term you as a collective) can be seen as unattractive. If you were an anti and the woman was a hunter i could understand, or it was an activity that would infringe on your life.
