David K 172
I have been on the look out for a hob over the last few weeks so I can get him vasectomised to bring the jills that I have out of season. One came up on a Done Deal advert so after a quick phone call a meet was arranged. I was a bit wary about this ferrets temperament as in the advert picture the owner was wearing long leather gauntlets to handle him and the jilll he also had for sale. At the meet the owner put on his gloves and opened up the box very cautiously and grabbed a nice looking hob about year old, he said he was a bit bitey but I looked him over and after handling him myself I decided he just needed a bit of work socialising him with people and said I'd have him. This left the little albino jill, which it turned out had been kept with the hob so is probably in kit, needing a home as well. This guy said these ferrets where his boys and they didn't want them anymore and he wanted me to take the probably pregnant jill as well. Now I only needed a hob and I'm not mating my jills as I don't want to be trying to find responsible homes for ferret kits, so what do you do? I ended up taking them both as I didn't want to think about what might happen to an unwanted pregnant ferret. So in being responsible and trying to get a hob to vasectomise I've ended up with one hob and a probably pregnant jill, good job I am buiding a large run for the ferrets at the moment. This is the as yet unamed hob, only bit me once and that was my fault as he pounced on my hand as I was spreading out his bedding. I think a few weeks of good handling he should work out okay. This is the jill, she is nice and friendly and both animals seem well fed and clean just in need ao a bit of attention. Hopefully she won't have a load of kits but we will deal with that when it happens I suppose. Edited April 25, 2012 by David K Quote Link to post

David K 172
For all you know they could be brother and sister : / ???? The lad I got them off said they where unrelated, I know thats no guarantee but I what could I do? The hob is a big fella and dosen't really look like the albino jill but if a litter of six legged mutants are born I'll let you know. Quote Link to post

Six-legged ferrets are better workers than micros and polecat hybrids, you'll shift them £100 each no bother! Quote Link to post
