lanesra 3,961 Posted March 27, 2012 Report Share Posted March 27, 2012 Have a few of good lifelong friends i know i could phone right now and id be helped out whatever the situation but they know it would be the same if they rang me , and i dont socialise with some of them in fact dont see some of them from 1 month to another through different circumstances but that doesnt matter with real friends , also a few lads ive met (some on here) through dogs have been very good pals , but id like to think they know ive appreciated there friendship ..... though ive seen the other side off people , where ive treated people right and gone out off my way for them and they abuse that friendship through selfishness greed or just decietful b4stards thats the end off any friendship for me , cause if someone does it once THEY WILL DEFINETLY DO IT AGAIN ! 3 Quote Link to post Share on other sites

Firstly, there has been a lot of folk from here that have invited me on their land, and given me some good hunting, just for the sake of meeting up and going for a walk out together, i've met some really top blokes to be honest. A member on here sent me a stop net he made free of charge. I have never met him. Johnnyboy has helped me out lots of times. And there have been some random ones from total strangers over the years, mostly in other countries. Including - I was in a train station in Serbia in the earlier hours of the morning just swopping trains and didnt have time to find a working atm as they were all f****d near the station, without any local currency i wasnt getting on the traiin, a young guy from nottingham, saw me trying to figure something out, and came and gave me the money, and shoved me on the train. Was in Budapest, in hungary, asked a guy in the street for directions after walking lost for ages after i had arived by train, he couldnt explain, so stopped what he was doing, marched me in the right direction to a bus stop, gave me a ticket, put me on the right bus, and told the driver where to let me off, i didnt even get his name. Was walking through a small bosnian town, talking to a girl, in english, this lad walked past and said hey, then ended up inviting us back to his dads house, where his old man cooked us a massive dinner, got us drunk, we stayed there for a couple of days, listening to the old mans storys (like a bosnian rambo), got taken round the local area, and when we were leaving it was raining and the old man literally tried to give the girl the shirt off his back. They then organised for their cousin to meet us at a village further along and do pretty much the same. On that occaision, we ended up at the house of one of the cousins friends, and they insisted we had their bed, while they slept on the sofa, took us fishing the next day, and cooked us a massive fish feast and got us drunk. A similar one, walking through the mountains in slovakia, and got really lost, ended up miles out of my route, stumbled into a small village to try to buy some food, to last me the over night journey back to my house, asked an old lady, and she took me home, fed me, fed the dog, gave me cake, and ordered her husband t take me back through the mountains to my house, which was miles, in the dark, and then he had to walk home alone. Been picked up by loads of folk hitch hiking, and ended up having random adventures, going to partys and staying with folk for days. I could go on. . . . Quote Link to post Share on other sites

Tewkesburypat 5 Posted March 27, 2012 Report Share Posted March 27, 2012 A builder offerd me a labouring job when I worked in a local builders merchant 7 years ago did'nt take it straight away but got sacked a few weeks later for not turning up on a saturday morning, anyway turned up on his door step cap in hand with a 2 week old baby daughter at home and a mortgage to pay, "that job still going I says "yes he says start tomorrow . He ended up getting me a little van,company credit card(no thrills or expenses tho) mobile phone. Gave me a 200 sheets bonus at crimbo,bought the heating system for my house and let me pay it of weekly.then started to teach me carpentry and took me from a low paid worker with no skills base to some one with prospects and a decent future in the building industry, I have actually lost track of the good turns this person has done for me.
